At Odin's Warrior Tribe we conduct activities and events for active-duty and Veteran military.  We are a 501c3 nonprofit that has been around since 2019.  These events are hosted by our members who are active and Veteran military themselves. Our experience is that many Veterans miss, and need in civilian life, the camaraderie and warrior spirit of their time in the service. This approach of welcoming back warrior veterans has been proven effective by ancient tribal cultures and some of these methods are in use by the Veterans Administration. We are proud to help Veterans reconnect and reignite their warrior virtues in a positive way through many Viking themed activities. We help warriors reconnect and encourage warrior and success-oriented attitudes. Read more in our blog - links at bottom of page.  We follow Department of Defense Equal Opportunity guidelines.

We are now seeking to build a Viking Hall for Veteran events and as a dual-purpose Boat Shelter allowing for winter storage and maintenance for our Gislinge late Viking age replica boat named the Sæ Ulfr - Sea Wolf.  The Viking Hall and Boat Shelter will be designed so that our Viking boat can be rolled inside on it's trailer for storage and maintenance and then rolled out to use the building as a gathering, entertainment, and feasting venue for Veterans. It will be located in Maryland with access to the Potomac River close to the Chesapeake Bay.  The coastal region of Maryland where our camp is located is beautiful, but also subject to heavy winds and storms and we lack a structure sufficiently large enough at present to host Veterans in both a dry and safe setting.  We currently make do with a Viking themed shed and Viking tents though the later are susceptible to the weather.  We need your help to build the Viking Hall and Boat Shelter.

In addition to athletic activities, Odin's Warrior Tribe conducts military history events such as our Gettysburg Battlefield Tour and military museum visits. Our main approach to helping veterans is rooted in Adventure Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Doing something fun and adventurous.  We stress Veteran’s homecoming and belonging. Many of those who attend our events are combat veterans and some have PTSD and suffer from loneliness and depression, and we have also had disabled combat veterans attend our events. We offer physical and adventure-based experiences - outstanding venues to build self-confidence, resilience, and resolve for all genders. These transformative activities are coupled with an opportunity to share stories with fellow veterans over a meal or around a campfire. These provide for excellent mentoring and coaching opportunities.

Our replica Viking Boat the Sæ Ulfr - Sea Wolf shrink wrapped for the winter.  We lack a place to store and maintain the boat during the winter months when we are not sailing with Veterans.  Late winter early Spring maintenance includes power washing, reapplying "Viking Soup" (special varnish), bottom painting, and checking for and making any other repairs.  This is part of what the Boat Shelter aspect of the project will address.

We were founded by six active and veteran military members as a Virginia nonstock company in 2019 for religious and educational purposes. We became an IRS 501c3 nonprofit that same year. We now have 50 members plus their families. We have been a registered charity in Virginia since 2019 and in 2023 added Maryland to that list. Our members are inspired by the Old Viking concepts of honor and loyalty and since our inception our charitable focus has been on helping active duty and veteran military through athletic, skills, cultural, and historical events, and activities. All members of Odin’s Warrior Tribe are active-duty military, veterans, law enforcement, work for DOD, or are first responders. Many of our members are combat veterans, a sizable number have been decorated for bravery and/or merit, and several hold sensitive Government positions with clearances. No officers or board members are currently compensated but can be reimbursed for expenses incurred in direct support of Odin's Warrior Tribe. We make do through membership dues, store sales, small donations, gifts, and services. Our members must be serving military, or have an honorable discharge, and we do not allow any felons or persons involved in serious crimes or any extremist activity to join. Every member is subject to a background check. Our veteran events are secular and for all veterans regardless of their faith, or any other qualifiers, and we do not discriminate, and we follow Department of Defense E.O. guidelines
