As of October 30, the Great Viking Hall is on the move from Connecticut where the timbers were cut and fitted to Southern Maryland where it will rise!

After years of planning, fundraising, and extraordinary craftsmanship, the Great Viking Hall of Odin's Warrior Tribe will begin rising in Southern Maryland on Monday, November 2, 2026!

This past week has been one of tremendous progress and preparation. We visited Amish sawmills in Southern Maryland and procured locally milled lumber for the Hall's subroof and raised wooden floors. This represents another important step toward completing a beautiful, historically inspired Viking Hall built using traditional craftsmanship and materials.

We are also moving forward with plans to protect the roof through the winter months. Our intention is to install temporary weather protection while continuing to raise the funds necessary for the permanent cedar-shingle roof installation in the spring. This approach will allow construction to proceed while protecting the investment already made in the Hall.

And now, the Hall itself is on the road!

In Connecticut, our builders have loaded the magnificent timber frame, carved architectural elements, and foundation stones for transport south. The trucks are scheduled to arrive in Southern Maryland on Monday, November 2, when our builders and Tribe members will begin the extraordinary work of raising the Hall.

For two weeks, November 2–15, members of Odin's Warrior Tribe, veterans, military personnel, law enforcement officers, first responders, families, and friends will gather to help bring this vision to life.

But this gathering is about much more than construction.

During these two remarkable weeks, we will celebrate workdays, feasting, fellowship, a wedding, three blóts and three sumbls. We will also observe the United States Marine Corps Birthday, Veterans Day, and the Feast of the Einherjar, honoring the warriors who have gone before us.

There will be opportunities for sailing aboard traditional Viking vessels, sharing stories, strengthening friendships, and celebrating our Norse and Germanic heritage.

The Great Viking Hall is being built to serve as a lasting place of fellowship, faith, remembrance, and support for our veteran and warrior community.

Every timber raised, every foundation stone placed, and every hour volunteered brings us closer to fulfilling that mission.

We are deeply grateful to the donors, craftsmen, builders, volunteers, and supporters who have made this extraordinary undertaking possible.

The photographs accompanying this update show the Hall and its foundation stones being loaded for the journey from Connecticut to Southern Maryland.

The next photographs will show something we have worked toward for years: the Great Viking Hall rising into the sky!
